Our client, an Interdenominational International Christian organization is looking for a suitably qualified candidate for the position of Financial Controller to work in the Liaison office in Nairobi but with frequent travel to the project locations in Southern Sudan.
Duties and responsibilities;
• To shape and implement strategy to strengthen the financial position of the organization including strategic investment viabilities.
To oversee the finance functions/systems of the organization as well as establish a real-time system for financial input and information access from various international locations via internet connectivity. •
• Provide strategic direction for ‘New Business Opportunities’ as well as establish effective and efficient financial systems, controls and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the organization in a new strategic direction over the next 5 years that will involve internal change management as well as management of a new investment direction.
• Develop regional financial capability to manage the new strategic direction.
• Providing genuine commercial direction for the organization
• Establish financial systems and processes to manage entire process effectively
• Financial Planning, Forecasting, Budgeting and Reporting
• Auditing to ensure compliance
• Manage Tax Compliance
• Managing Annual financial statements
• Lead an already strong team in implementing the new strategic vision.
Candidate Profile
♦ A committed Born again Christian
♦ MBA- Strategic Management as well as Degree and CPA K
♦ Good leadership and Strategic orientation skills
♦ Exposure to current Financial management practices
♦ Eight years experience with at least three years in a senior position.
♦ Experience / knowledge on managing strategic investment
♦ Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
♦ Moderate typing speed, working knowledge of spread sheet with word processing and familiarity with knowledge of current financial and accounting computer applications, especially knowledge of SUN Systems.
♦ Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational and written skills.
♦ Ability to mentor and coach the finance team
♦ Flexible to travel to outside the country
♦ Valid Driving License.
♦ Must be 40 years and above.
